Pied-a-Terre in San Francisco

We recently helped a couple purchase a gorgeous condo in central San Francisco. Dan & Katharine raised their family just outside of SF in a spacious single family home. Now that their kids had left the nest, they were ready to have a fun weekend home in the city. They imagined a convenient location where they could enjoy all of the culture, entertainment, shopping and dining that San Francisco has to offer. An added bonus — they knew their 20-something kids would be more inclined to visit!

My team and I sat down with Dan & Katharine to discuss their goals. This proved to be a great clarifying exercise for them and we established that a condo would best fit their needs. Who do you know who is looking for a new home and wants a Realtor who really listens?

Three weeks ago, a client (who works for a big pharmaceutical company in the South Bay & is looking to buy a home in San Francisco) asked me if it was true that social tech was pushing up real estate values in San Francisco and in particular, Noe Valley.

Two weeks ago, I spoke with Carolyn Said about this exact topic as she researched her upcoming article.

“We see a lot of first-time buyers from tech companies who still want to have a city lifestyle; they don’t want to live in the suburbs, but they work down south. What I notice is when people from Google, Apple, Yahoo and Genentech come in for a first meeting, we literally draw a line in the city because of the commute. The role of perception and social psychology should not be underestimated when it comes to the behavior of the residential real estate market.

We recently helped a couple swiftly sell their loft condo in the Inner Mission after it had been on the market with another agent for a year!

Chad & Mike had their condo on the market for a year with another realtor before calling my team. They saw our signs go up in the neighborhood and the yellow “Sale Pending” stickers that would soon follow. They often wondered why the same quick and profitable sale wasn’t happening for them.
